If you've been following Mary Hannah Interiors for a while, you are well acquainted with my love for designing kids' bedrooms. There's an elevated yet precious appreciation for the authentic within the kid arena. Each child lights up as they educate me on what they love, and comparison simply isn't in their vocabulary unless it's in reference to who they're going to be "when they grow up."
This 3.5 year old little boy loves dinosaurs so dinos is what we delivered. When we first began dreaming up his bedroom, he also let us know right away that his favorite colors are blue, green and "lellow," or yellow for the adults. We incorporated these primary colors while grounding the space with coastal furniture in a modern vein to keep consistent with the home's overall mid-mod coastal vibe.
I would like to point out that this room wouldn't be as wonderful to the eye without its striped rug. This accent is a powerful element in unifying the room and reinforcing the look and feel of the space. I'm so thankful and thrilled that our clients trusted our love for rugs-over-carpet in their home!
Which detail do you love the most? I'm smitten over the closet-turned-homework-area for additional "play and create" space, anything to strengthen a child's imagination!
